Just three miles from the M90 motorway and a 20-minute drive from Edinburgh Airport, Balmule offers a unique location coupled with impeccable service and delicious food. The house has a traditional atmosphere with a twist of elegance throughout, so you instantly feel at ease and at home.

 

The house and grounds are ideal for board meetings, staff training sessions and away days, and our staff are attentive and yet discreet. We know that each company’s requirements are different, which is why our service is tailored to your exact requirements.

 

A boardroom can be arranged for up to 20 people and the 10 large spacious bedrooms have enough technology in them to double as a temporary office away from home. Along with complimentary Wi-Fi throughout, you have access to a copier, scanner, and fax so you can remain connected throughout your stay.

 

Best of all, there are no other guests, it’s your meeting in completely private surroundings away from prying eyes and competitors.

There are several championship golf courses close by and a motor racing circuit with activities for all.


Meeting Room Hire

We are here to make your meetings easy, rewarding and exciting to host. Balmule House ensures discretion and privacy that few hotels can provide. In relaxed and inspiring surroundings, we will support you with efficient service, delicious food and drink, and all the technology and business support that you require. We can reserve an informal space for as few as 2 people and as many as 60.


Alternatively, we can accommodate up to 180 in a marquee – perfect for a large summer celebration in the walled garden.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Our aims are simple and when you visit us, we will be appreciative of anything you can do to help us maintain our responsibilities.


  • The environment – we recycle 100% of our rubbish, we planted a flower meadow in order to introduce bees to make the honey for our breakfast table, we own peat bogs for capturing carbon dioxide and we use our own sustainable woods for the fires. We are mindful of our environment and try to improve on the natural habitat as we go along. The ambition is to leave things better than when we arrived.
  • Sourcing locally – we try to use as many of our local suppliers and services as possible. These folk also share our environmental ambitions.
  • Growing our own – we have started growing our own vegetables, soft fruit and flowers for use in the house. We are very much on a steep learning curve so any advice you have to offer is welcome.
  • Where you could help us - we change bed linen and towels every third day for longer stay guests. If you would like your linen changed more often, just let us know on check-in. Your honest feedback is invaluable to us. We are fairly thick-skinned so please tell us if there is anything that you don’t like, and we will endeavour to improve.
